You’re also thrilled to finally live alone. I was like that too and college is really exciting, but a lot of responsibilities come with it. Like, taking care of yourself. At the end, going away for college, is basically our first try at life as adults. Which can seem both exciting and intimidating. Get enough sleep

Sleep deprivation is so unhealthy, so you need to get into a good sleeping pattern if you want to take better care of your health. If you’ve pulled an all-nighter then take a nap in the afternoon. Come on. That cup of coffee isn’t a solution. You might feel a big buzz after your daily dose of caffeine, but you’re only masking the problem. Low energy levels aren’t the only consequence of sleep deprivation; you’re damaging your health on many levels. It affects your mental health, your ability to concentrate, your metabolism, and even your immune system. You’re ruining your productivity and making yourself more likely to put on weight or become unwell. If you struggle to get to sleep then avoid phone screens before bed. Get a check-up

My mom is paranoid about everything that’s health related, so I basically get these at least 3 times a year. But, you should get a general health check-up from your doctor before you leave for college and then during college at least once or twice a year. The truth is that this should be considered an essential part of remaining healthy, and yet so few people manage to actually get checked up as well as they should. This will also mean that any niggling problems can be dealt with as they arise.
