The cargo pants trend has been around for a while and I think itβs here to stay! If Iβm being completely honest, I was never really into street style. But, Iβm all for getting out of your comfort zone and trying out different styles and clothing items you wouldnβt normally wear. So, this is me trying cargo pants, my opinion + ideas on how to style them!
As mentioned before, I was never really into street style. Iβm still not completely into it, but Iβm starting to like certain trends and items. For example, I also wrote a post about me trying out biker shorts and ended up loving them! I think itβs fun taking a clothing item youβd normally not wear and try to style it in a way you like and that makes you feel comfortable.
I initially ordered these black cargo pants from Shein and was supposed to wear them for NYFW. Because, thatβs probably the perfect season to try new styles and to go crazy since, everyone around you goes all out and you wonβt be judged. But, because of Labor Day weekend, the shipment was delayed and I got it after NYFW.

The verdict: Iβm kinda into it
I used to think cargo pants were ugly, Iβm still not a fan but I kinda like them now. I feel like they are so versatile. Iβve seen them worn with sneakers and baggy shirts for a full street style look. But also paired with heels and crop tops for a more chic look.
I obviously chose to dress it up. But wanted to keep it casual. To compensate the bagginess of the pants I wore a tight tank and brought our my inner Kim possible. The sunnies made the the whole outfit look more put together. And since I refuse to wear stilettos, I opted for these kitten sandals.
These pants were SO comfy, I literally felt like I was wearing joggers and loved it. I got to wear heels, a cute flattering outfit, felt comfy AND after brunch the pants hid my food baby. I donβt know about you but Iβd call that a win.
How to style them
Iβm no street style expert but here are a couple ideas on how to style cargo pants.
But before we get into that; I was wondering if you would be interested on making this type of post a sequel or section on the blog? The concept would be trying out trendy items that I would normally not wear or also ideas on how to style tricky clothing items? What would you think if I would do something like that twice a month?
