It’s finally almost fall and honestly I couldn’t be more excited – I’m one of those persons who can’t stand the heat at all… Anyways, fall also happens to be that season when Mother Nature doesn’t seem to be able to decide if she wants it to be cold or still hot. Putting all of us in an awkward position because we don’t know what to wear. But, don’t worry, I got you. Here are some tips to make the summer to fall transition very smooth.
Layers Layers Layers
We all know that specially during fall it can be really cold in the morning but as the day goes on, it only gets warmer and warmer. And that’s why one of the top tips for mastering the summer to fall transition is layering. Layering doesn’t have to compromising style. Click here for tips on how to master layering clothes.
Wear a scarf
You can still wear your spaghetti strap or low cut blouses in the transition to fall. Just make sure to add a cardigan or blazer and a cute scarf.
Don’t be scared of mixing lengths
You could wear a long cardigan with shorts or a dress. Or a long blazer with a skirt. Mixing lengths is probably one of my favorite things about the summer-fall transition, because it is so cute!
With that being said, also take advantage of your maxi skirts & dresses. They are still super wearable at the start of fall. Mix them with chunky sweaters, cardigans or blazers.
Introduce seasonal colors & patterns
Another tip to transition from summer to fall is to slowly introduce fall colors and patterns. Tone down bright colors and start wearing neutral & earthy tones, while also adding fall patterns such as animal prints and plaid.
Swap your shoes
Obviously in the transition to fall you should stop wearing your cute strappy sandals. Swap your sandals for loafers, mules or booties.
Don’t be scared to rock white jeans
You’re probably thinking that white jeans should only be worn during summer. And let me tell you that white jeans can be worn all year long – it just depends on how you wear them. White jeans are my favorite piece for transitioning to fall. They look great with literally everything, and they’re really easy to pair with other clothing pieces.
Add tights
Your dresses and skirts can still work after the weather cools down. Just pair them with tights, which will keep your legs warm and will make your outfit trendier.
