While there are ways we can save money as students- taking advantage of reward sites, cooking our own meals – there are still those times when our budget is more than a little stretched. With textbooks to buy, accommodation to pay for, and other stuff like new clothes… life can be tough! Finding ways to make money can sometimes be tricky, but here are some easy and not so easy ways to make money fast!

#1: Sell your jewelry
You know those accessories you bought but barely wore? And those gifts you received from long-ago boyfriends that only create bad memories whenever you open your drawer? If you no longer want them, sell them. You might want to get them appraised before you let them go, since you want to get top dollar after all. After pricing them up, you could sell them at your local pawn shop or online. Perhaps with Amazon for your cheaper jewelry, or through high-end online stores such as TheRealReal or Tradesy if you have anything of real value. Considering the value of some of your items, remember to protect your pieces with such things as these silver storage bags when sending them online, as you don’t want any damage to occur in transit.
And aside from your gifted or bought items. You might also have hand-crafted your own jewelry, so why not give Etsy.com a go? Or you could also start your own website! Not only will this net you some extra cash, but it could also be your first step towards a real sustainable business… You never know unless you try!
#2: Sell your used textbooks.
To be honest, many of us get the information we need online these days, but if you have bought textbooks for your classes, and no longer need them, then sell them on. There are at least two ways of doing this. The first is to offer your textbooks to any new students who have been landed with a reading list at the start of the semester, perhaps by advertising them on your college Facebook group. You might also sell them online, using services such as Bookscouter.com to ensure you get the most money for them. It’s better than having them clogging up your precious dorm space, after all!

#3: Sell your knowledge
Yeah, that sounds kind of weird, but it’s true! I’m pretty sure you master at least one class or topic. So, why not make money out of it? There are always students struggling with a certain subject or topic, and they could be your clients! Fun fact: I’ve always had a math tutor, like all the way through high school. What can I say? I was never good at math. Anyways, you could advertise your tuition services on Facebook, or on the student boards at college. Most school have their own tuition services and they’re often hiring! So, you could always apply. You could also tutor online by signing up on Oktutor.net. The options are endless and the best part is that it’s a super flexible job!
