The way we feel about our appearance and about ourselves has a big impact on how confident we feel. And the more confident we are, the more happier we are. But, let’s be real, we always find a new flaw to pick on and focus on that instead of all the other good things about ourselves. For me, my skin is not as soft as it used to be weeks ago and people can’t notice it unless they’re holding a microscope on my face. But, it is still something that makes me feel less confident. We also tend to constantly compare ourselves with beauty gurus, influencers and celebrities in the media, who normally showcase a perfect life. But, let’s stop comparing ourselves with others, because we’re already gorgeous! Let’s set some time apart and give ourselves a beauty boost!
Okay, I know sometimes it can seem impossible to do something extra or to add something to your daily/ weekly routine, especially when you’re forever busy with work, or if you’re a college student. But, don’t worry, you’ve totally got this; you can start with just five to ten minutes here and there and you’ll soon benefit from the extra time and effort you’re putting in your beauty routine. Besides, it will become part of your routine before you know it. The following are some ideas, inspiration, and advice for those who want to boost their beauty regime to feel gorgeous more often, even though you’re a total babe already. So, write down this ideas for your next pamper session!
A smile is the prettiest thing you can wear
Your great smile will light up your whole face, and you’ll get an instant beauty boost whenever you do it; therefore, you should start smiling and laughing more often! Looking after your teeth is really important health-wise and it will also ensure that your smile makes you feel gorgeous. I know that sometimes our teeth can be stained (I live with a cup of coffee attached to my face). But I also know that trips to the dentist for whitening treatments can be expensive. Which is why, I recommend looking into ways to give yourself an at-home treatment. Looking into natural teeth whitening so that your mouth can stay chemical-free. You can whiten your teeth when you’re catching up on your favorite Netflix show – it doesn’t have to feel time-consuming.
Take care of your lips
My lips are constantly getting chapped no matter what season it is. I literally can’t live without a lip balm! I have so many laying around the house… one in my school bag, one on my desk, a lip mask on my nightstand, you get the picture. There are so many affordable options and pricier ones like the Laneige one. Applying lip balm isn’t always enough, so make sure to regularly exfoliate your lips. You can do this with just sugar and olive oil by mixing the oil and a bit of sugar. Then, rub the mix against your lips and just rinse with warm water.
My favorite lip balms are from Alba Botanica (available at target), since they’re organic and smell amazing! But I also love the Laneige lip balms even thought they’re pricier. Focus on your skin
Okay, who doesn’t want soft and fresh skin? A way to get your skin glowing and to give yourself a beauty boost is to take care of it! So, staying hydrated at all times is a must. You can start by upping the amount of water your drink throughout the day (remember to drink 2 liters of water every day). Also, please, never forget to take your makeup off to let your skin breathe and heal overnight. I know we sometimes are too buy or simply forget to take our makeup off, but it is so important to do it! There’s so many cleansers to choose from! They come in every form (soap, foam, wipes), so find one that suits your budget, and ensure you’re using it daily.

Do facemaks
If you have any skin problem and even if you don’t, do face masks! Not only because they’re great for your skin, but also because it is so relaxing! It only takes up to 10 minutes and you can do it while watching Netflix.

Hair
Take care of your hair and not only by going into a saloon and getting a new haircut. There’s also hair masks and scalp masks that are so beneficial for your hair & scalp! Also, apply hair oils or serums on the tips of your hair to keep it shiny and healthy! I love the coconut hair oil from Trader Joe’s and I swear by Amika’s Soulfood Nourshing Maks. I blow dry, straighten and curl my hair at least once or twice a week and it is so shiny and healthy – I don’t have any split ends!
Nails
I always forget to take care of my nails – it’s so annoying! I don’t do dip or gel manicures ever! I tried twice but didn’t like it since my nails were so weak after and it took like a month for them to recover. If you do get these manicures often, then make sure to take a break and allow your nails to rest and recover. These type of manicures involve so many chemicals and it’s just not natural for your body.
I love Dazzle Dry nail polishes – they’re my favorite ever! And probably the only ones I use. Their nail polishes are completely vegan, non-toxic, dry in just five minutes and last up to three weeks. It’s like gel nail polish but so much better because it strengthens your nails in the process. Seriously my favorite nail polish brand, it’s definitely pricer but the quality is amazing.
