A little bit of background is that I’ve never been to a concert before, let alone a festival. This might sound weird to some. People still get impressed when I tell them that, but it never actually interested me. Yes, I love music. BUT I never was interested enough to buy a ticket and go see the artist perform live. Anyways, since I was seeing festivals all over social media (Coachella, EDM and others). And then was about to join Tinder on their Festival Mode campaign, I thought it was about time I went to a festival.
Everything worked out perfectly as Governor’s Ball was around the corner and it was in New York. I wanted my first festival experience to be something simple and dind’t want to go all out since it was my first experience

Anyways, the commute from the city to Randall’s Island was a bit longer than hour. But I loved the fact that you could just take the subway and then walk… Everything on Instagram that’s Coachella related seems so smooth… but I’ve heard that finding a place to stay and then having to commute to the festival is a pain in the ass.
Now, since I had never been to a festival before I had NO IDEA about what to wear… and it was so hot, too! I wanted to be comfortable, but I also wanted to have a nice colorful outfit, that wasn’t basic. So, shorts weren’t really an option for me. I had this Cotton Candy LA neon midi skirt, so I paired it with just a lace bodysuit and ShoeDazzle sneakers. I was the ONLY ONE wearing a midi skirt. Which kinda felt weird, but I thought was so fun to be the only one in a huge crowd wearing a midi skirt! The skirt got ruined because at the end I was so tired and didn’t care anymore and ended up sitting in the mud.

Overall, it was a nice experience but I discovered that I do not do well in crowds. My friend wanted to get to the stage and kinda dragged me into the middle section. It was so tight. Everything was okay, I wasn’t feeling it but I could handle it until the crowd or people started pushing a lot and started a mosh pit. And I was like “I’m out!”. I HATED it. I got a bit scared, almost dropped my phone in a sea of people and it was just not my thing.
If I ever go to a festival again, I will be at the VIP section, sipping a margarita and just chilling on a couch… avoiding crowds and bugs and the mud.
