This is a sponsored post in partnership with Mary Kay and the InfluenceHer Collective. All words and opinions are my own.
When I first started blogging, about two years ago, I came across Mostly Morgan’s post on Her Conference 2016 and ever since then, I’ve wanted to attend. It became a small goal of mine to attend the conference one day. Little did I know back then, that I would be moving to NYC and that I’d not only get to attend the conference, but that I would also partner with InfluenceHer Collective and one of my favorite makeup brands – Mary Kay. Now, that I think about it, it even sounds funny and it’s curious how everything find its own way to work out and become a reality. Anyways, I’ll stop being cheesy now.
Some of you might now know what I’m talking about here, so: Her Conference is an annual conference, put on by Her Campus for young college women involved in the media. The conference brings together bloggers, aspiring journalists, college students, and young women from around the country to connect and enjoy an amazing day full of panels and activations.
Being able to attend Her Conference was an amazing experience. I definitely felt inspired and ready to get my life together and pursue my dreams and goals. Some of the panels were about building a career in social media, or about being your own boss. There were also a lot of activations, like a resume check with Deutsche Bank or my favorite – the Mary Kay booth, I might be biased, though. I got glammed up and picked up my new Perfect Palette!
The reason why I like Mary Kay, is because it’s affordable, but it doesn’t compromise on quality. Their new Chromafusion™ Eye Shadows say it all. They’re smooth, high-pigmented, last 12 hours and are only $8 each. The blush in the palette below might be my favorite so far, especially now that I’m tan, it suits my skin perfectly, as well as the bronze contour. And don’t get me started about the highlighter. Now that is summer, I try wear as little makeup as possible, and I mostly rely on highlighters and blush to look alive.
The fun part of this Perfect Palette is that you get to fill it up with your choice of shades! Of all the eyeshadow or makeup palettes I own, there’s probably two or three eyeshadow colors I use regularly, two I use occasionally and the rest is literally untouched. But, with this one I might actually use all of the colors, except black – because I haven’t mastered the technique to achieve the perfect smoky eye… yet.
Another product that I’m currently loving is the Mary Kay Oil-Free Makeup Remover. It is so gentle while removing even waterproof mascara and it does not feel greasy at all!
