We all know that most men donβt take as long as women when shopping. Some of them even dread going to the mall and picking out a few outfits. More than two guys I used to date, told me they go shopping twice a year, TWICE! I go shopping at least twice a monthβ¦ not even counting all the online shopping I do. Itβs just crazy to me, but also, when men shop, it is so much simpler and easier. They just pick what they need and are heading home within an hour. Now, that is what I call efficiency. And it is something I wish I could do instead of going crazy at the store, trying on 20 outfits only to take home 3 pieces after 3 or 4 hours of debating what looks good on me. Anyways, here are 3 shopping habits from men we should try to imitate. Maybe thatβs the only thing worth copyingβ¦
They donβt impulse buyΒ
At least when it comes to clothing, because if we were talking about video games itβd be a different story. Iβm guilty of impulse buying. I tend to do it all the time, and the worst thing is that I justify why I needed to buy new clothes. Please, tell me it isnβt just me.
Meanwhile, most men donβt do that. It is very rare to find men at a store buying something cute for a Saturday night outβ¦ Thatβs just us and sadly buying special outfits for one night that we will probably never wear again is a waste of money & not eco-friendly. Try wearing something you already own and just style it differently. If that doesnβt convince you, you can always buy second hand on apps like Depop or Poshmark.
They donβt always shop for fun
Most men find shopping boring, especially if it is clothes. They will happily look through the latest tech and games, but trying to get them shopping for much else is not easyβ¦ But we women (most of us at least) always get excited about clothes and shopping. For some of us, shopping is our cardio (literally). And for those who are like βHow can shopping count as cardio?β Um, have you ever tried on like 20 different outfits and walked like 10 miles at the shopping mall?Β
Anyways, this is a shopping habit from men we could imitate, and our wallet will probably thank usβ¦ Letβs just limit our shopping to once a month. And maybe replace shopping as a hobby for something else.
Comfort < Trends
One of the shopping habits from men we should copy is to chose comfortable & versatile clothing instead of trendy. There are two types of women: The ones that care more about being comfortable and the ones that are more fashion conscious. I would consider myself fashion conscious but I also think that being comfortable is very important. The majority of men are far more interested in comfort than fashion. And until some point, we should start feeling that way too.Β At the end of the day, it doesnβt make sense to wear something super trendy to the office or to class if you canβt breathe, walk or sit comfortablyβ¦
Shop with a purpose
Another reasons why we might tend to impulse by is because we go shopping just because we want to. Men go shopping when they need something, they get to the store, grab it, pay for it and theyβre out in 10 minutes.
Try going shopping only when you need something. Also, feel free to keep reading this blog for more fashion advice + tips.
