Letβs be honest, we all want to have a beautiful clear and bright skin. But achieving that is obviously not easy. And it is often advertised that you have to have an extensive skin care routine and use a bunch of expensive products. But it doesnβt matter if you use the most expensive products if you donβt do simple things, like drinking water or eating right. So, here are 9 tips to get that bright and clear skin you want!Β

Remove your makeup
I canβt stress enough how important it is to remove your makeup before you go to sleep or working out. I know we are sometimes too tired (or too lazy) to take off our makeup. But just make the effort and your skin will thank you. At night, your skin breathes and repairs itself. So, when you forget to remove your makeup, your pores get clogged with all the oil and dirt. Which can causeΒ uneven skin tone, dryness, redness, and even deepening of wrinkles. Not to mention it can also cause acne and blackheads breakouts.
Also, remember to take your makeup off before heading to the gym. Because when you workout, your pores open and the makeup and oil buildup can clog your them. Which can also lead to breakoutsβ¦
There are different ways to remove your makeup. You can use makeup remover wipes, you can wash your face with a facial cleanser or you can just use Vitamin E or even Coconut oil to remove your makeup. I have a couple friends that have a really sensitive skin and they swear by Coconut oil as a makeup remover.
Itβs 2020 and Iβm super committed to be sustainable and to reduce my carbon footprint β that includes not using makeup wipes anymore as they are not biodegradable. If you canβt live without makeup wipes, click here for some eco-friendly options!
Whenever I wear heavy makeup, I like to wash my face using a facial cleanser soap and my SonicClear cleansing brush. It completely removes my makeup and oil buildup.

Get your beauty sleep
This is probably the best tip to get a clear skin, because whatβs better than having an excuse to take a nap? Your sleep has an impact on your mental and physical health (obviously). And whenΒ you donβt sleep long enough, you blood pressure can decrease, making yourΒ skin look dull and causing poor circulation, resulting in puffy eyes. Lack of sleep also releasesΒ aΒ stressΒ hormone: cortisol. This hormone basically breaks downΒ collagenΒ (the skinβs support structure), makingΒ skinΒ sag more and wrinkles more prominent.
Β If you have trouble sleeping, you should probably try taking aΒ melatonin supplement or CBD! There are gummies or pills available at your local cvs, target, Walgreens or wherever you decide to shop. This will help you to regulate your bodyβs natural sleep cycles so that you can get back on track.
Also working on a blog post about my experience with CBD. Hint: I love it! Leave your email below to get a notification once the post is up. I wonβt be spammy!
Suck on an ice cube
Okay, I know how this sounds, it is a bit random. But many people claim that it works and it is free, so why not give it a try? Sucking on an ice cube will chill the cells that are in your lips and cheeks. This will give you rosy-looking, plumper skin because it boosts your circulation, which is also good for your health. You donβt lose anything by trying right?Β
Try a vitamin C serum
Vitamin C serums work wonders. Applying it is something you should add to your morning routine. They have multiple benefits, like promoting collagen production. You can use them for so many different situations. Vitamin CΒ can help you to fight a number of different skincare and anti-aging concerns. Like acne, sun damage, sunspots, uneven skin tone, pore size, fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging and loose skin. Not to mention, it is also a potent antioxidant.Β You can find out more about it atΒ Monicaβs Beauty. And there are also different ways to receive the benefits of vitamin C. You can consume it as a dietary supplement or you can purchase a serum.
I also include a vitamin C toner in my daily skincare routine, click here to see what products I use.
Try coconut oil as a moisturizer
I already mentioned coconut oil before, but it is a product that you just have to have. It has the ability to rejuvenate and restore skin that has become damaged. Also, it has outstanding antioxidant properties and evens out your skin. And it moisturizes dry skin and helps to keep it hydrated. If that doesnβt convince you to try coconut oil, I donβt know what will.
Also, if you have a really bad case of dry skin, it can be treated at places like a med spa.
ALWAYS wear sunscreen
I know it can sometimes be tedious and annoying to put sunscreen on every day. But it has so many benefits that go beyond having a bright skin, like preventing skin cancer. It also prevents premature aging, while also making your skin look healthier. I know some sunscreens can be greasy and sticky, but you just have to find the right sunscreen for your skin type.
I used to hate wearing sunscreen, because of the oily feeling. Especially, because I have a combination skin, meaning that it is oily in certain areas, it was hard to find the perfect sunscreen for me. But I found Coola and this Neutrogena Sunscreen and Iβm obsessed.
And now that weβre talking about oily skin, here are some ways to treat it.
Drink lots of water
Drinking literally solves all problems. I meant drinking water, so donβt go to the nearest bar just yet. It is well known it helps to clear your skin. It flushes all the toxins and things that shouldnβt be there out of your body. So, it basically gets rid of any bacteria and dirt, leaving your skin clear and bright. So donβt forget to drink 8 glasses of water every day. If you donβt drink enough water, I know 8 glasses can seem a lot, but youβll get used to it before you realize it.
Do face masks
I absolutely love face masks. For me, there isnβt anything better than putting a face mask on and watching Netflix after a busy day. It is one of the best ways to practice self-care and it just feels amazing. Here is a list of my favorite face masks under $20 if you want to check it out!
If you have dry or sensitive skin, Iβve heard this oatmeal face mask does wonders! I donβt have a dry or sensitive skin so I havenβt tried it out, but I have friends that have tried it and liked it a lot!
Eat healthy
Last but not least,Β what you eat has a massive impact on your skin. Avoid snacks or food in general that contains high sodium, as they can cause water retention and swelling. You should also up your intake of vegetables and fresh fruit. In conclusion, learn how to eat healthy and your skin will eventually thank you. Another tip is to drink warm lemon water on a daily basis. This helps to eliminate toxins from your body.
